Irene M. Tarquino Obituary

TARQUINO, Irene M. (nee Alonzo/Schubert)

Irene Tarquino, a resident of Orchard Park, NY, peacefully passed on March 18, 2024, with her daughters by her side. Born to Peter and Julia Schubert (Jamelsky) on February 20, 1929, Irene was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished life's simple joys. She graduated from Fosdick-Masten High School in 1946 and enjoyed a career at Bell Aerospace before marrying Bruce L. Tarquino in 1960.

Together, they raised two daughters, Beth Tarquino Mitchell (Jack) and Cynthia Tarquino McDonald (Leo), in Orchard Park. Irene discovered her passion for antiques and established a small antique business, which she pursued well into her 80s. She was an active figure in the antique community, known for her merchandising and as a vintage dealer at Antique World and at shows throughout Western New York.

In addition to her daughters and sons-in-law, Irene is survived by her grandchildren, Zachary and Madeline Mitchell, her sister Patricia Fritz of Ashtabula, Ohio, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends including the caring nurses and aides at Elison of Orchard Glen and Mercy Nursing Facility at OLV who brought so much joy to her life. Irene is predeceased by her brothers Robert Alonzo and David Schubert.
