Helen Veronica (Schierlitz) Mulvey

Helen was born to John and Anna Schierlitz on June 30, 1934 in Buffalo, NY. She graduated from Fosdick-Masten Park High School in  1952. She went on to complete a nursing degree at the Edward J Meyer School of Nursing (now ECMC) followed by graduate studies in public health at the University of Michigan. She was married to Kevin Mulvey on November 21, 1956 at St. Boniface church in Buffalo. Helen and Kevin went on to raise 5 children and she continued to work as an R.N. well into her 60's. She will always be known for her loving nature, her sense of humor, her fashion sense and bargain hunting skills. 

Helen passed away peacefully on 3/23/2023 in Coeur d'Alene, ID.  She was pre-deceased by her mother and father, her brother John Schierlitz , her sister Marion Wolbert and her husband Kevin who died in 1991.

She is survived by her brother William Schierlitz and sisters, Anne Goetzman and Julia Scibetta, her children Kevin Mulvey (Megan Whitmore), Mary McMenomey, John Mulvey (Leah), Dan Mulvey and Robert Mulvey (Tricia), her grandchildren (Dylan, Veronica, Kevin, Robert, Brigid, Clare, Maeve, Jack, Meghan, Patrick, Emily, Ryan, Michael, Zachary, Allison) and great-granchildren (Soli, Eloise). 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, 1140 Abbott Rd.  in South Buffalo on Saturday; May 6th at 9:30 am.  Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery
