June Elizabeth (Cox) Hughes

June Elizabeth Hughes, 72, formerly of Parkersburg, WV died October 31, 2019 at the UPMC Chautauqua in Jamestown, NY. She was born on September 21, 1947 in Wood County, WV a daughter of the late Grant U. Cox and Alberta(Rhodes) Shears.

She worked for Kraton and St. Joseph's Hospital and was a member of 19th Street Church of God in Parkersburg. She enjoyed bingo, sleeping, eating out and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Nathan and Terrance Hughes; one grandchild, Michael Walker; three sisters, Betty (Jack) Cunningham of East Liverpool, Oh, Janet (Ron) Cummings of Freeport, Maine and Dottie (Jim) Black of Newton, Iowa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband Larry Joe Hughes.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 8th at 11:00 am at the Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg with Pastor Jimmie Cox and Pastor Mike Cox officiating.

Inurnment of cremated remains will be held at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 7th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
