Suzanne M. (Cole) Fayle

Suzanne Fayle of West Seneca passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 22nd, 2026.

Her Husband of 52 years, G. Thomas Fayle passed in 2008.

She is survived by her five children; Kevin (Tracy), Michael (Susan), Thomas, James (Cathleen) and Maureen (Ian) Mitchell;

her sister Kathleen Cole (Jeffrey Heitman); her brother-in-law Frederick Fayle; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and their families.

Mrs. Fayle graduated Cum Laude from Buffalo State College majoring in English Literature and worked as an English Teacher her entire career.

After retiring from full-time teaching, she continued to work as a Substitute Teacher for the next 20 years until the age of 85 at Mount Saint Mercy, Our Lady of Victory and her alma mater, Sacred Heart Academy.

Her students loved her grandmotherly demeanor and broad expanse of knowledge, often seeking her advice and insight both in and out of the classroom.

She had the distinction of being voted "Who's Who Among America's Teachers", both in 2000 and 2004.

She was a voracious reader owning hundreds of books covering every topic imaginable and was obsessed with crossword puzzles, especially from the New York Times.

Born in Buffalo and living most of her life here, she was proud of her Irish Heritage, growing up in the First Ward, and proud to be called a Buffalonian.

But, her greatest achievement and what she was most proud of was her beloved family.
