Tam was a passionate artist, a loving wife and a loving mother.  Tam was born in Buffalo, went to West Seneca West High School and graduated from SUNY Buffalo with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology.  She also studied oil painting from a very young age.  She taught art history and painting at Georgia State, then moved to Iowa in 1990 with her husband and two children and remained there for the rest of her life.  Her painting caught the attention of a number of galleries in Iowa and in Arizona where she displayed and sold her art.  Tam also enjoyed reading, watching the Buffalo Bills and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Iowa Cultural Coalition, the International Guild of Realism, Oil Painters of America, National Oil & Acrylic Painter's Society, Allied Artist of America, Iowa Artist Directory, Midwest Art History Society and the Trinity Episcopal Church of Iowa City.
